Location…

The apartment is situated on Broughton Road, on the second floor of a traditional Edinburgh tenement building. The apartment is within walking distance of the city centre. There are two bus routes on Broughton Road itself (13 and 36) and there are three other bus routes nearby (8, 23 and 27) this allows easy access to the city centre and beyond. A  “daysaver”  ticket costs £3.20 per person and this allows you unlimited travel on all Lothian Regional Transport buses from 06:00 - 11:30.

Travelling to Edinburgh

By Rail

Waverley Station, the main railway station, is about a ten minute walk from the apartment. For train information www.thetrainline.co.uk
If you have a lot of luggage it may be easier to take a taxi, this would cost around £5.00

By Bus

The main bus station is in St Andrew’s Square, about a ten minute walk from the apartment. For bus information www.travelline.co.uk

By Air

Edinburgh Airport is situated about ten miles west of the city centre. There is a regular airport bus service into the city centre.  Alight at the terminus at Waverley Bridge which is about a ten minute walk from the apartment. From there you can take a taxi to the apartment.

By Car

The penalty for such a central location is that car parking is at a premium. Because of the excellent location of the apartment and the local bus service there isn’t really any need to have a car in Edinburgh. Why not leave the car at home and enjoy some car free time in Scotland’s capital!

If you are travelling onwards within the UK you might consider hiring a car and I have provided a link to a local  car hire company.

However, if a car is a must there are a range of parking options no matter where you are staying within the city – these can be costly. There are several car parks in and around Edinburgh City Centre, however exploring parking in the long stay car park at the Airport might be as more affordable option. Then use the frequent Airport bus service into the city centre.
